Wyoming men's swimming and diving sits 2nd at WAC Championship

The University of Wyoming men's swimming and diving team was in second place after the opening day of the Western Athletic Conference Championship in Houston.

The Cowboys finished the day with 95 points to trail leader Grand Canyon College by 19 points.

Senior diver Ryan Russi paced UW, finishing third in the 1-meter with a score of 297.00 points. Freshman Brendan Byrnes was sixth in the event with 271.30 points and sophomore Elijah Chan seventh with 259.90.

Wyoming also got points in the relays as the 800 free team was fifth and the 200 medley team placed sixth.
