Wyoming men's golf team sits fourth after first day in Texas

Led by Kamrin Allen, the University of Wyoming golf team found itself in fourth place Tuesday after the first round of the Bob Sitton Invitational in Dallas.

Allen, a senior from Sheridan, carded a 72 (+1) to tie for seventh in the 102-man field. Following Allen for the Cowboys were Ryan Wallen (73), Arron Lickteig (75), Drew McCullough (76) and Glenn Workman (82). Playing as an individual, Quintin Pope (Cheyenne East) fired a 76.

Wyoming had a first-round score of 296 (+12) and trailed leader Long Beach State by 11 strokes in the 54-hole tournament.
