Wyoming holds off Utah State in 85-77 win

LOGAN, Utah -- Alan Herndon scored 21 points, Hayden Dalton added 20 more and Wyoming held off a Utah State rally Saturday night for an 85-77 win.

Wyoming (12-7, 3-3 Mountain West Conference) led by as much as 22 points in the first half but Utah State steadily chipped away at the deficit after the break, getting a pair of free throws from Koby McEwen to go on top 62-61 and then 64-63 off 2 for 2 from the line by Dwayne Brown Jr. with 5:50 to play.

Justin James then dropped in a layup with 5:09 left to put Wyoming on top for good, and Herndon padded it with two straight buckets.
