The Mountain West Conference released its pre-season cross-country poll on Thursday, with the Wyoming men's team picked to finish sixth and the Wyoming women's team seventh.
The Cowboys received 20 points, which was eight behind New Mexico and Utah State who tied for fourth. The Cowgirls earned 53 points, just behind Nevada's 56.
Colorado State was picked to win on the men's side while the New Mexico women were chosen to win.
Rock Springs native Ricky Faure is the Cowboys' leading returner, with Lauren Hamilton expecting to lead the Cowgirls.
Wyoming's season begins Friday at the CSU Duals in Fort Collins, Colorado.
