University of Wyoming Athletics Hall of Fame member Steven Suder passed away Wednesday, the university said in a release.
Suder wrestled for the Cowboys from 1975-79, earning All-America honors in 1979. Later, as coach of the Cowboys (1989-2008), Suder led the program to two Western Athletic Conference titles and 127 dual wins, which is the second-most in program history.
“The Wyoming wrestling family is in pain and heartbroken,” UW head wrestling coach Mark Branch said. “Coach Suder was a legend at UW as both a wrestler and a coach, but his impact was so much greater than the sport of wrestling.
