The NCAA West Preliminary Round begins Thursday in Sacramento, California, with 11 members of the University of Wyoming track & field team slated to compete. The top 12 in each event advance to the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on June 6-9.
Junior Ja'la Henderson leads four Cowgirls into the weekend. Henderson is the only one from Wyoming scheduled to compete in multiple events after qualifying in the triple jump and long jump. She currently has the No. 8 mark for the region in triple jump and No. 34 in the long jump.
