Sophomore forward Shaina Ashouri notched what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 55th minute to upend Air Force, 1-0, on Friday night in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Wyoming improves to 6-2-3 overall and 2-1 in the Mountain West.
“It was an extremely physical game,” UW soccer head coach Pete Cuadrado said. “I am proud of the girls for stepping up and matching the intensity. It took a real team effort to come away with the win.”
Ashouri’s goal came off a rebound from a deflected kick. It was her seventh goal of the season, which ties her for first in the Mountain West.
