LARAMIE — Construction on a $44 million addition to the Rochelle Athletics Center at the University of Wyoming is expected to begin this summer.
The Mick and Susie McMurry High Altitude Performance Center is now almost fully funded thanks to the state chipping in $20 million in public money and the UW Foundation raising most of the remaining $24 million in private donations.
But he says the money for construction has been raised and what has not been collected is only needed to purchase furniture, fixtures and equipment.
Ben Blalock of the UW Foundation says the remaining funding will be in place before the final equipment is needed.
