Cowgirls to compete in the WNIT for third straight year

The Cowgirls received their third straight invitation in as many seasons to compete in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) last Sunday.

This also marks the 12th time in program history that the Cowgirls will compete in the postseason tournament. The Cowgirls have even won the WNIT once in 2007 and hold a 20-10 overall record in WNIT games.

The Cowgirls’ regular season concluded with a tough loss at San Diego State, where they were outscored 25-12 in the final quarter of play while holding an 11 point lead with under seven minutes to play.

The Cowgirls’ run at the Mountain West tournament was much of the same, as they dropped their quarterfinal matchup versus Boise State in similar fashion as the Broncos outscored them 22-10 in the final quarter of play.
