Cowgirls' Ja'la Henderson sets school record in triple jump

University of Wyoming junior Ja'la Henderson continued her torrid season Saturday, winning the triple jump at the Tom Benich Invitational in Greeley, Colorado.

Henderson's mark of 43 feet, 0.5 inches broke the program record of 41-2.25 set in 1999 by Tomeca Brown. Henderson now has the top triple jump in the Mountain West and the No. 5 mark in the nation.

Also earning victories for the Cowgirls were Lauren Hamilton in the 1,500, Ashley Bock in the 3,200 and Kasey Doner in the 3,000 steeplechase.

The Cowboys won seven events to finish second to Colorado State in the team standings.
