The University of Wyoming women's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the Mountain West Championship with a 4-2 victory over Nevada on Friday in Las Vegas.
The fourth-seeded Cowgirls (18-3) took a 1-0 lead with the teams of Dorottya Jonas/Ana Tkachenko and Magdalena Stencel/Milka Genkova winning their doubles matches.
In singles, Tkachenko at No. 6 and Jonas at No. 2 won in straight sets for a 3-0 lead before the Wolf Pack won at No. 1 and No. 3 singles.
Elisa Koonik won 2-1 at No. 5 singles to clinch the win for Wyoming, which faces top-seeded UNLV in the semifinals Saturday.
