Cowboys, Cowgirls indoor track teams head to Mountain West Championships

The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this weekend to compete in the Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Leading the way for the Cowgirls is senior Ja'la Henderson, who has the MW's top marks in both the long jump (20 feet, 7 inches) and triple jump (43-09.75). Senior Jerayah Davis (Kelly Walsh) has the No. 2 mark in the long jump (19-09), the No. 3 mark in the 60-meter dash (7.31 seconds) and the No. 4 mark in the 200 (23.94).

The Cowboys expect to garner points from a distance runners Christopher Henry (Laramie), Paul Roberts and Michael Downey (Cheyenne East); jumper William Nolan (Cheyenne South); sprinter Jace Marx (Big Piney); and Hap Frketich, who has the top mark in the weight throw.
