Women’s Hockey: Badgers defend title, win Championship second straight season

It took three years, but the University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team (16-3-1, 12-3-1-0-1 WCHA) is a back-to-back national champion.

This caps off a spectacular season in which the players captured the WCHA regular season and conference tournament titles. They battled through an ever-changing schedule and a lot of uncertainty to arrive at the top of the college hockey world with their sixth championship in program history.

Wisconsin faced the hottest team in the country in the national championship game, the Northeastern Huskies (22-2-1, 17-1-1 Hockey East), who came into the matchup without a loss since December 11, 2020.
