Lincoln, Neb.— A season removed from allowing Wisconsin to run for 581 yards, Nebraska was intent on stopping the Badgers' rushing attack. Senior safety Byerson Cockrell even told the Omaha World Herald this week that UW was going to have to beat the Cornhuskers some other way.
For three quarters, Wisconsin's running backs ran into a virtual brick wall, combining for just 50 yards on 15 carries. The fourth quarter, though, was a different story. The running game — ranked ninth in the Big Ten entering the game — came alive led by Dare Ogunbowale's 83 yards on 12 rushes.
