Wisconsin soccer: BADGERS ARE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS!

The No. 10 Wisconsin Badgers (13-2-2 overall, 9-0-1 B1G) were in Evanston, Ill. on Sunday to take on the Northwestern Wildcats (5-10-3 overall, 3-6-2 B1G) in an important match for the Badgers outright conference title hopes.

The Badgers had already clinched a share of the B1G title on Thursday by beating Illinois 1-0, courtesy a Dani Rhodes goal (her tenth of the season) in the 41st minute, but they didn’t want to share it with anyone and went into the game on Sunday with that mindset.

Rhodes scored the first goal of the game in the 15th minute for the Badgers, and even though NU equalized seven minutes later, junior Claire Shea scored her first collegiate goal just before halftime which ended up being the game, and title, winning goal.
