Wisconsin Football signs defensive playmakers in early signing period

Wisconsin football is desperately trying to turn the corner, get over the hump, break through the ceiling, whatever phrase you want to use. The Badgers are threatening to become an elite football program but can only get there if they continue to elevate the way they recruit.

The class of 2019 is a step in the right direction. It is Paul Chryst’s best class as Wisconsin’s head coach and features some program-changing players. The two biggest names, five-star offensive tackle Logan Brown and four-star quarterback Graham Mertz, but the defense is full of future key players.

Names like Rodas Johnson and Spencer Lytle will become household names throughout the state and in the Big Ten, and others like recently committed Titus Toller, Lytle’s teammate, and Semar Melvin, have the potential to bud into stars too.
