Wisconsin football: Alvis Whitted tabbed as WR coach

After former wide receivers coach Ted Gilmore accepted an offer he couldn’t refuse to become the tight ends coach at Michigan State, the Wisconsin Badgers football team was in need of a new wide receivers coach for the 2020 season.

That vacancy was just filled.

Alvis Whitted, who spent 2019 as the wide receivers coach of the Green Bay Packers, has been named to the Wisconsin coaching staff.

In addition to his time with the Packers, Whitted was recently the wide receivers coach at Colorado State from 2012-2018. In his time with the Rams, spanning two coaches (Jim McElwain and Mike Bobo), Whitted was credited with the development of three All-Americans turned NFL players who are all currently on NFL rosters: Preston Williams of the Dolphins, Michael Gallup of the Cowboys, and Rashard Higgins of the Browns.
