Report: Paul Chryst Turned Down Big Ten Rival’s Job Offer

Former Wisconsin football head coach Paul Chryst announced his decision to stay with the Texas Longhorns for the 2024 season, where he served as an analyst and special assistant to Steve Sarkisian.

This offseason, he was involved in coaching searches at Northwestern, Indiana, Oregon State, and, more recently, Iowa for a coordinator role.

Chryst was initially considered a top target of Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz for the offensive coordinator role. Nevertheless, a report from the Des Moines Register suggests that Chryst was ‘given the opportunity to take the job’ but ultimately chose against it.
