Report card: Wisconsin vs. USC

San Diego — Jeff Potrykus reviews Wisconsin's 23-21 victory over USC in the Holiday Bowl on Wednesday night at Qualcomm Stadium.

OFFENSE (B)

Credit the line, tight ends, backs and receivers for chipping in to produce an effective running game (46 carries, 177 yards) after a sluggish start. USC's front allowed little movement early and the Badgers rushed for just 30 yards on 11 carries in the first quarter. They stuck with it, however, and Corey Clement, Dare Ogunbowale, Derek Watt and Tanner McEvoy found creases to pick up key yards.

Clement carried a college-high 19 times and showed toughness on his 6-yard touchdown run in the second quarter before leaving in the third quarter with an ankle injury.
