A seven-point output in any quarter makes it hard to win a basketball game.
The University of Wisconsin women's team found that out Sunday, managing that total during the second quarter of a 62-57 loss to host Illinois State in Normal.
The Badgers (3-2) fell behind 33-22 at halftime and were down 49-36 entering the fourth quarter against Redbirds (3-0). The Badgers got as close as four points in the fourth following a 15-0 spurt.
Freshman forward Serah Williams was the high scorer for the Badgers for the third time this season with 16 points on 7-for-13 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds.
