Madison — Justin Wilcox no longer has to rely on flash cards — complete with a name, uniform number and position — as he works to mold Wisconsin's defense.
Wilcox has been UW's defensive coordinator for less than three months and has yet to face a Big Ten foe, but he is gradually learning the strengths of individual players and who can be relied upon to lead on and off the field.
"I think that is shaping itself daily," he said recently. "It will continue to do so not only on the practice field but in the weight room, meeting rooms and in off-season conditioning when we're not there.
