NCAA says it got violent threats after releasing USC papers

LOS ANGELES (AP) — NCAA committee members say they received violent threats after documents were released in a former assistant University of Southern California football coach's lawsuit against the organization.

The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday (http://lat.ms/1yp72CF ) that Infractions Committee members received unspecified threats after documents the NCAA sought to seal were made public.

The documents are part of a lawsuit by former running backs coach Todd McNair. He sued the NCAA for defamation after being sanctioned in the scandal over Reggie Bush.

The football program was banned two years from postseason play and lost dozens of scholarships because Bush and his family received cash and gifts.
