Mike Eaves' run as men's hockey coach at Wisconsin's is apparently over.
One day after the Badgers suffered a 5-2 loss to Penn State in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament and were eliminated from contention for an NCAA berth for the second consecutive season, UW officials are expected to announce Friday that Eaves will not return for the 2016-'17 season.
The No. 1 replacement on the mind of many fans no doubt will be Mark Johnson, a teammate of Eaves at UW in the 1970s and in his 13th season as UW's women's hockey coach.
