Michigan basketball's head coach, Dusty May, took the podium at Big Ten Media Days, and someone asked about Nick Boyd. Boyd played for May while they were both at FAU when the Owls went on that incredible Final Four run. May was beaming as he talked about Boyd, "That's my guy!" he said. "He's one of the big reasons why I'm sitting at this stage now."
Boyd was May's starting point guard for that Florida Atlantic Final Four team, averaging 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. However, his relationship with May started well before that, and during his first season, Boyd was stuck on the bench rehabbing a foot injury.
