The Wisconsin Badgers did not want this to happen at all. Early on in their upset bid of the Washington Huskies, starting quarterback Danny O'Neil suffered what looks to be a season-ending injury. The San Diego State transfer was making his third start of the season for the Badgers. After scampering for an impressive 21-yard gain, it looks as though he ruptured his Achilles on the run.
He was dealing with Achilles soreness coming in, as running the football is a big part of his game. While Hunter Simmons had been the team's starter dating back to the road loss at Michigan, O'Neil had played in some offensive packages for the Badgers over the last month and change.
