EVANSTON, Ill. — Six University of Wisconsin wrestlers secured a podium finish at the Midlands Invitational on Friday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Junior Ricky Robertson secured fourth place at 197 pounds after defeating Rider’s Ryan Wolfe 9-6 in the consolation semifinals before falling 2-1 in a tiebreaker to Northern Illinois’ Shawn Scott.
Freshman Evan Wick was fourth at 157, dropping a 8-0 major decision to Arizona State’s Joshua Fields; sophomore Ryan Christensen took sixth at 174 after falling 9-2 to Indiana’s Devin Skatzka; junior Johnny Jimenez was seventh at 125 with a 12-9 decision over Oklahoma’s Christian Moody; and freshman Eli Stickley was eighth after falling 5-3 to Ohio’s Cameron Kelly.
