Another day, another record for Kelsey Card, while a gamble paid off for Zach Ziemek at the Big Ten Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Card won the women’s shot put with a meet-record toss of 59 feet, 9½ inches at Ed Weir Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska. The University of Wisconsin senior, who had set the meet record a year ago, owns the Big Ten record in the event with the 60-10¾ she threw at the Wisconsin Twilight meet on May 6.
Card defended her outdoor title in the shot put, adding it to the indoor crown she won in February.
