The Wisconsin Badgers got some crushing news on Wednesday, as starting cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean's injunction that would’ve allowed him to play in 2025 was overturned on appeal.
Fourqurean had been fighting to receive another year of eligibility, arguing that his D-II seasons do not count against his D-I eligibility. He was initially granted an injunction, which would’ve permitted him to play this year. However, the NCAA filed an appeal and won a 2-1 decision that denied Fourqurean’s waiver for another year of eligibility.
The news comes as a big blow for Wisconsin, which was operating with the belief that Fourqurean would be their starting cornerback on the boundary side in 2025.
