When Christopher Mueller waits until the last second to get something done, he literally waits until the last second.
The University of Wisconsin sophomore scored with 1 second left in the second overtime on Friday night to lift the Badgers over Rutgers 1-0 in Piscataway, New Jersey, for their first victory of the season.
Mueller took a pass from Drew Connor and initiated a give-and-go with Tom Barlow, then beat Rutgers goalkeeper David Greczek with a sliding strike to notch the first goal of his Badgers career.
Mueller's shot, which came from about 15 yards out with a defender sliding along with him, clanged off of the crossbar and the left goalpost before making its way into the net just before the game ended in a scoreless draw.
