Madison — More than 15 years since he played his last game for Wisconsin, Chris McIntosh still follows the fortunes of the football program.
The four-year starter at left tackle has paid close attention to injuries in camp that have left UW with a trio of redshirt freshmen on the No. 1 unit — Michael Deiter at left guard, Micha Kapoi at right guard and Jacob Maxwell at right tackle.
McIntosh, a senior developmental specialist who works in UW's Athletic Development Office, can commiserate with the growing pains the unit is experiencing in camp.
McIntosh experienced a similar transition during his redshirt sophomore season in 1997.
