Former UW inside linebacker Marcus Trotter spent time in the spring helping prepare Edwards and Jacobs to make the jump to starter in '15. That jump will be precipitous for Edwards, who hasn't played at UW.
"Marcus Trotter let us know," Edwards said. "He said: 'You guys are going to have to prove yourself.'"
Safety Michael Caputo, who is entering his senior season and often plays near the line of scrimmage like an extra linebacker, believes Edwards and Jacobs progressed throughout the spring.
"He is becoming more football savvy," Caputo said of Edwards, who played quarterback in high school.
