When Brenna Detra gets back to the starting blocks at Hayward Field this week for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the University of Wisconsin sprinter might have an opportunity to look to the sky.
The view will be so much different than the last one she had at the iconic venue in Eugene, Oregon.
In a moment of reflection recently, Detra pictured herself lying on the track a year ago, eyes on the sky, screaming not from the pain in her left knee but because she knew something had gone horribly wrong.
