The Winnipeg Jets raised some eyebrows when they signed Laurent Brossoit to be the backup. Prior to this season, he had an .897 save percentage, a 2.98 GAA and a 7-13 record in 20 starts.
This was, however, in the place where NHL talent goes to die, Edmonton. The Oilers can’t have good goaltending, they’re not allowed. They’re barely competitive and they have Connor McDavid.
That was all thrown out the widnow, however, as Brossoit got off to a ridiculous start, winning his first three games with a .957 save percentage.
