Not too many people expected Kyle Connor to still be on the board for the Winnipeg Jets at pick 17 of the 2015 NHL draft but much as it did the year before with Nik Ehlers, things fell into place.
Draftniks such as Craig Button had Connor as high as 6th on their draft boards heading into the draft. Connor’s fall has less to do with him and more to do with teams picking in the teens going after guys they were high on (Boston!), allowing Winnipeg to swoop in and grab the best player available on their board.
