First, give Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice credit. He didn’t even try to put a timeline on Patrik Laine's return from a concussion, which is the correct approach.
“There can’t be on any of these,” he said, when meeting with the media after Sunday’s practice.
Not when it just happened the previous night, not when the player is still dealing with symptoms. But he gave hints that Laine’s symptoms were at least bearable at the moment. It’s a positive for Jets fans while waiting for their talented rookie to recover.
“He’s not feeling 100 percent, he’s not feeling fresh, but he walked around looking good,” Maurice said.
