It’s just one of 82. And by season’s end, whether the Winnipeg Jets are playoff spectators or — by some small miracle, playoff participants — it will likely be all but forgotten.
But, man, did the Jets and their faithful ever need what happened Tuesday night at MTS Centre.
Struggling to score goals, struggling to find wins and struggling to stay relevant in the National Hockey League’s playoff discussion, the Jets awoke from their January slumber to pummel the Arizona Coyotes 5-2. And, for the first time in what seems like an eternity, downtown Winnipeg was alive again.
