The Winnipeg Jets will have to do without dynamic Dane Nikolaj Ehlers for an indefinite period, head coach Paul Maurice said after today’s brief practice at the MTS Centre.
Ehlers was struck in the helmet by a shot Thursday in overtime against the New York Islanders. The puck broke his visor and dropped onto the stick of Kyle Okposo, who ripped it home for the winner in a 4-3 decision for the Isles.
Ehlers had to be helped off the ice and was not at practice today.
"Ehlers took a puck on the visor and the visor broke, which caused an injury," Maurice said.
