The Winnipeg Jets grabbed a victory from the jaws of almost certain defeat Tuesday night.
With his club trailing by a goal, Mark Scheifele scored the equalizer, his 17th, with only 14 seconds left in the game and then set up the winner in overtime as the Jets shocked the Washington Capitals with a 4-3 victory at Bell MTS Place.
Defenceman Tyler Myers took a perfect feed from Scheifele and beat Caps goalie Braden Holtby at 3:35 of the extra session for his sixth tally of the year.
