It was an opening period that lacked a whole lot of discipline from the Winnipeg Jets. But despite taking three minor penalties, the Jets remain tied with the Edmonton Oilers, 0-0, after 20 minutes of play at MTS Centre Friday night.
Blake Wheeler, Brendan Lemieux and Mark Stuart all got called for two-minute infractions, which could have proved costly had it not been for some stellar goaltending from Ondrej Pavelec. Pavelec finished the period stopping all 12 shots that came his way, picking up right where he left off when he went 19-for-19 in two periods against the Minnesota Wild Tuesday night.
