Ondrej Pavelec said today he could play Friday if he had to but Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice continues to hold the reins tight on his injured goalie.
Pavelec hasn’t been in action since being run into by Arizona’s Shane Doan in the second period of a game here on Nov. 21.
He has now resumed practising with his teammates but the recovery process isn’t complete.
"If I have to, yes," Pavelec said after today’s practice at the MTS Centre, asked if he could play Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes."
He said his progress has been substantial of late.
