Young, unproven players will be front and centre when the Winnipeg Jets open their NHL pre-season schedule tonight at home against the Calgary Flames.
The Jets unveiled their lineup stocked with rookie forwards Jansen Harkins, Michael Spacek and Jack Roslovic and defenceman Nelson Nogier, while including AHL veteran blue-liners Josh Morrissey, Brenden Kichton and Julian Melchiori in the mix. Game time is 7 p.m. at the MTS Centre.
Second-year pro Eric Comrie will start in net for the Jets. Comrie, who spent the entire 2015-16 season with the AHL's Manitoba Moose, will be backed up by veteran Michael Hutchinson.
