RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Winnipeg Jets rallied but came up just short against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday evening.
The Jets cut the Hurricanes lead to a goal with a third-period tally but couldn't tie it despite a late push, finally falling 3-1 before 10,809 fans at PCN Arena.
The Jets (9-10-2) dropped their last third straight on the road.
Carolina (7-6-4) has now won four straight.
Winnipeg goalie Connor Hellebuyck had a solid performance, stopping 37 shots.
Carolina centre Elias Lindholm notched his first goal of the season at 6:45 of the first period to open the scoring.
