The Winnipeg Jets hold a 2-0 lead over the Vancouver Canucks after one period of play at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
Jets newcomer Marko Dano got the visitors on the board first in the fifth minute of play deflecting home a pass from Tyler Myers.
It was the third goal of the season for Dano and his second tally since being acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks in the Andrew Ladd trade.
Myers later potted his ninth of the season to put the Jets up by two heading to the middle frame.
The Jets are playing the first of two games out west - they play the Flames in Calgary on Wednesday - before returning home to play Ladd and the Blackhawks Friday night at MTS Centre.
