Mark Scheifele scored with just 41.4 seconds left in overtime to propel the Winnipeg Jets to a 5-4 triumph over the Tampa Bay Lightning in a playoff-style thriller at Bell MTS Place on Sunday night.
It was third OT goal of the year for Scheifele, who also added two assists. He set up the Nikolaj Ehlers' game-tying tally with just over five minutes left in regulation time.
Scheifele now has 21 goals on the season. Patrik Laine drove to the net and got a shot away, and Scheifele slammed home the rebound.
The matchup between NHL heavyweightst was an early holiday season gift to hockey fans from the NHL schedule-maker.
