Jets tame Preds 6-4 to climb closer to top of Central Division

NASHVILLE – Brandon Tanev's goal with 1:26 left in the game proved to be the winner as the Winnipeg Jets to surged to 6-4 triumph over the Nashville Predators in NHL action at Bridgestone Arena Tuesday.

Tanev's third goal of the season helped the Jets improve to 20-10-5 for 45 points, one point back of the 21-8-4 Predators, who lead the Central Division. Blake Wheeler added an empty-net goal with one second remaining.

Predators defenceman Yannick Weber scored his first of the season 30 seconds into the third period, tying the game at 4-4, to set the stage for a furious, frenzied final frame.
