Jets sputter in second period against Wild

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Nikolaj Ehlers and Blake Wheeler scored late in the first period to give the Winnipeg Jets a 2-0 lead over the Minnesota Wild after 20 minutes of NHL action at the Xcel Energy Center Center Saturday night.

Goaltender Michael Hutchinson was crucial to Winnipeg's lead, stopping three quality Wild scoring chances and getting the benefit of Mikael Grandlund hitting a post on another opportunity.

The Wild had a 10-9 edge in shots after the first period.
