The Winnipeg Jets are casting a wide net in an attempt to bolster their organizational depth.
Russian forward Andrei Chibisov signed a one-year, two-way contract Saturday after spending the past five seasons playing in the Kontinental Hockey League. The 26-year-old shoots left but can play either side of the ice and bring some size -- the Jets list him at 6'3" and 198 pounds, while Elite Prospects claims he is 6'4" and 227 pounds.
He hasn't put up a ton of offence overseas, with 26 goals and 40 assists in 220 career KHL games with three different teams.
