Jets' season ends with Vegas win

They mowed through Minnesota and knocked-off Nashville. But in the end, the Winnipeg Jets had no answer for the Vegas Golden Knights, who ended their season Sunday with a 2-1 win at Bell MTS Place.

Winnipeg dropped a fourth consecutive game to lose the best-of-seven Western Conference final 4-1. It sends the expansion Golden Knights into the Stanley Cup final, where they will play either Tampa Bay or Washington for the ultimate prize in hockey.

Vegas forward and native Winnipegger Ryan Reaves scored the series-clinching goal off a nifty deflection late in the second period.

It appears the Jets peaked in the first period of Game 1, when they scored three times in the opening eight minutes on their way to a relatively easy 4-2 victory.
