Jets score early, often as they double up Blackhawks 6-3

Speedy Winnipeg winger Kyle Connor scored a pair of goals to pace the Jets to a 6-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night at Bell MTS Place.

Winnipeg built a 4-0 lead early in the second period on Connor's second goal of the game and 13th of the season, then survived a gritty comeback from Chicago, the NHL's worst club (9-18-5). The Blackhawks have lost eight straight contests, all in regulation time.

Connor could have netted a couple more but was robbed on at least two occasions by Chicago goalie Cam Ward and then missed the open cage when the Blackhawks pulled Ward for an extra attacker.
