Finland's Patrik Laine insists that he should be the first player selected at the upcoming NHL draft, but the explosive Finnish winger says there's no animosity or awkwardness between him and consensus No. 1 pick Auston Matthews.

Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff wasn't revealing names Tuesday but suggested at a mid-day press availability at the MTS Centre that he's got his mind made up about the second overall pick at next week's NHL draft in Buffalo.

The Jets moved up to No. 2 in the draft by being a lottery winner in the drawing in late April.
